Kia ora,
Spring has arrived with longer days and some glorious sunshine. It’s our most changeable season – beautiful one day, wild the next – and in a way that feels like life right now too. New opportunities don’t replace what’s already on our plates; they land on top of it, creating a mix that can be messy, but also pushes us to grow.
New perspectives that we share through connection can help direct growth – both our own and others. Mentoring Circles make a safe space to talk openly and share ideas with peers about professional challenges and opportunities. Recently, many of our members have hosted students who are just beginning to imagine their own place in tech through ShadowTech. And sometimes change starts even smaller – like my personal goal this year to expand my network by having more coffees with new people (coffee invites welcome!). Each conversation adds a new perspective, and over time, those perspectives shape the path we take.
As you read through this newsletter, I encourage you to think about what perspective you could offer or seek out next. Could you invite someone for a coffee? Join a Mentoring Circle? Nominate a wāhine you admire for an industry award? Each action builds not just our own growth, but the growth of others.
Ngā manaakitanga,
