TechWomen

Closing out 2020

Thank you all for your continued support of TechWomen throughout what has been a challenging year for many of us. Congratulations, you made it! Bring on 2021.

This year we were proud to be able to provide one of our flagship programmes Mentoring Circles throughout the country. Based on our survey of those who participated this year we are delighted that 81% of mentees rated the overall experience good or excellent, and 93% rated their mentor’s ability to provide advice good or excellent. Almost all of the participants indicated that meeting virtually this year had been challenging to build relationships through the programme and we will be looking to go back to face-to-face sessions next year (Covid allowing). Thank you to all the facilitators, mentors and mentees who took part and to our sponsor, InternetNZ.

The TechWomen end of year get-togethers held in Wellington, Dunedin and Auckland were just what was needed, with topical conversation and great appreciation for being able to gather in person.

I want to thank the amazing executive committee of Techwomen for all their hard work this year; you are all amazing and none of this mahi could happen without the volunteer hours you all put in. And thank you to NZTech and the awesome support we get from the team there.

Please make sure you share the word with schools about ShadowTech for Teachers happening in Feb 2021 and we encourage all of you to sign up as industry mentors.

If anyone is interested in supporting TechWomen with sponsorship for next year, or with volunteer hours to help us deliver great events and programmes to our members, please feel free to reach out at team@techwomen.nz

Ngā mihi
